Kitchen Gardening (KG)
Kitchen gardens can be established and maintained on a small patch of land with minimum technical inputs; hence, these gardens provide the rural resource poor communities with a platform for innovations in supplemental food production as well as an opportunity to improve their livelihoods. Kitchen gardening is purely women led activity SRSO ensures women participation through mobilization. Skill enhancement is carried out through training and on site technical support.Kitchen Gardening can help to improve income generation and livelihood. The main purpose is to produce nutritious and diverse vegetables at household level to meet dily dietary needs and ensure year round access to nutritious foods for poor of the poorest family especially children and pregnant and lactating mothers.
